Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science or related field, including twelve (12) hours of Chemistry, plus two (2) years of related experience.
One (1) additional year of experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License

 

The work location is to be determined. Three sites: 14050 Summit Drive; 7113 E. MLK Blvd; or 911 Linger Lane

$18.32 - $23.35 hrly.  

Mon.-Fri. 7:30am to 4:00pm; plus mandatory overtime and holiday work as needed. Position is considered Essential and may be required to report to work during periods of bad weather.

JOB PURPOSE:

To aid laboratory operations in the biological, physical and chemical analyses of drinking water, waste water and stream samples submitted to the San Antonio River Authority Regional Water Quality Laboratory.

ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTING:

Performs analytical and technical analyses as instructed and assigned, and works directly under the supervision of a Water Quality Analyst.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conducts all assigned analyses and examinations in accordance with the methodology described in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 18th edition, or most recently approved edition, or as specified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Texas Department of Health (TDH), or Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission (TNRCC).

Maintains documents and participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) programs, both external and internal to the laboratory.

Maintains an accurate, legible diary of assigned daily activities and, if required, submits a weekly report of these activities to the Supervising Analyst.

Assists the other Environmental Services personnel, when assigned, and directed to do so by the supervising analyst or the Laboratory Operation Supervisor.
